Structure
A clear plan, adapted to your goals, current fitness and actual weekly capacity.
Running coaching — Bristol & online across the UK
For busy professionals and runners who want structure, confidence and sustainable progress around work, family, energy and recovery. Martin brings ultramarathon credibility without pretending every week is perfect.
The approach
Training plans only work when they respect the person doing the training. The coaching is structured, reflective and realistic around the load you already carry — whether you're chasing a first 10k, a marathon or an ultra.
A clear plan, adapted to your goals, current fitness and actual weekly capacity.
Understand what you're doing and why, so training feels purposeful rather than random.
Progress built on recoverable effort, realistic rhythms and steady feedback — the long run, not the heroic week.
Sessions & testing
One-off sessions and physiological testing, in person around Bristol — useful on their own, and a strong foundation for any coaching package.
A focused one-to-one for structure, confidence and technique — shaped around your goal.

Fixed-goal race preparation
From never done it, to race day. For busy professionals committed to a distance they have never covered before — with a fixed race date and no spare hours to piece the preparation together alone.
Generic plans cannot account for your history, your schedule, the nutrition and injury risks around your goal, or what happens in your head in the final third of a race. The Distance Project brings the physical, physiological and mental preparation together, so you can arrive at race day ready to execute.
Coaching does not replace medical diagnosis or treatment. Martin coordinates with an appropriate outside specialist where needed.
Pay in full or in 3 instalments of £800.
Equivalent instalment splits are available for shorter blocks.
James had never run 26 miles, let alone 50km. With structured race preparation behind him, he completed his first 50k.
